The background for this month's heart journal is made with gesso and fine pieces of fibre, ribbon and paper lace. After sticking the items to the cardstock heart and giving the whole thing a coat of gesso I left it to dry completely overnight.
When dry I gave it a coat of lilac acrylic paint and then when that was dry a very thin coat of purple. I lightly sanded the surface with fine sandpaper to remove the purple where the texture items were placed.
I made a small lightweight clay impression in a jelly mould and covered it with gold leaf.
I stuck this onto the heart with hot glue and arranged contrasting paper silhouette vine leaves around the edge of the heart and paper letters that spell Vineyard.
